Wenqian Zhang visits ICP

January 13, 2025

I am a guest researcher from the Department of Hydrology and Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Arizona (USA). From January 1st to June 30th, 2025, I am undertaking a six-month research stay at the Institute for Computational Physics (ICP) at the University of Stuttgart.

My research focuses on multiphase flow and transport at the microscale, as well as surface phenomena in porous media. Applications of this work include studying the fate and transport of contaminants (e.g., PFAS) in the subsurface, and the transport of reactants and products in electrochemical devices (e.g., fuel cells). During my stay at ICP, I have been developing an advanced mathematical model to quantify PFAS adsorption under complex water chemistry.
