The ICP welcomes Sarah Baskin, a second-year student at Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts (USA), as part of the prestigious DAAD RISE Fellowship program. Sarah will spend around three months working on interpretability methods for neural networks with Konstantin Nikolaou.
The DAAD RISE (Research Internships in Science and Engineering) program provides opportunities for undergraduate students from North America, the UK, and Ireland to undertake research internships at universities and research institutions across Germany.
With her research she will contribute to better understanding the processes underlying contrastive training mechanisms of neural networks. She will build up on previous work of Collective Variables allowing one to analyze hidden mechanisms of learning.
