Hello everyone, my name is Michel and I am going to do my PhD at the ICP. During my research, I will take a closer look at nanopore sequencing, a powerful and promising technique to detect and identify the building blocks of biomolecules. While the sequencing of DNA and RNA has already been shown to be successful, the extension to other types of biomolecules like proteins or peptides still remains a challenging task.
Using molecular dynamics simulations, I want to provide a better understanding of the atomistic interactions occurring during the translocation process of the analyte through the nanopore in order to improve this sensing method and to lay a foundation for future research and projects regarding nanopore sequencing.
