Hi, I'm Nils Kircher, a fifth-semester student of Simulation Technology currently working on my project thesis at the ICP, supervised by Fabian Zills.
My work focuses on Machine Learned Interatomic Potentials. To address the high computational cost of DFT calculations on large molecules, I am developing methods to automatically extract molecular fragments. These fragments are then used to generate DFT data for training machine learning models.
In my free time, I enjoy playing handball and the guitar.
