I am new at the ICP, working on my bachelor´s project under the supervision of Julian Hoßbach. My project is related to the machine-learning-supported study of amino acid sequences using biological nanopores. More specifically I use Contrastive Learning methods on blockade current signals to discover directions in the latent space and relations between peptides. The aim of this self-supervised methodology is to learn inherent structural differences and similarities between current signals of the of the blockade events. This serves the interest of finding biophysical distinctive properties without knowledge of the analyzed set of peptides in the solvent.
